Los Angeles: Katie Holmes, who was under intense media scrutiny after her divorce from Tom Cruise, thanks her close bond with her family for helping her get through such challenging times.

Holmes, 33, blindsided Cruise by announcing her divorce from Cruise in June this year, reported E! online.

“I have these moments where what’s going on in my life is unbelievable, and you have to tell everyone to figure out how to respond. My siblings and I are always on the phone saying: ‘Oh my God, what do you think? What does Mom think? What does Dad think?’ And then you act accordingly,” she said.

Holmes is busy in promoting her upcoming Broadway play, ‘Dead Accounts’ and about her character she says she definitely identifies with.

“I still think of myself as Midwestern. I mean, I’ve had box wine…It’s good. And it’s a lot easier to open. I’m like Lorna (my character) in that my values guide me in an
instinctual way, like, ‘That feels weird’ or ‘I better send a thank you’.”

Bus Stop Movie Review

Posted: November 11, 2012 in Movie news

Double entendre and sexual innuendoes are not something new to Telugu Cinema. They have been there since films took the hard commercial route. Everyone among us enjoy these so-called ‘cheap thrills’, yet many try to distance themselves from them in a moralistic way. Bollywood tried this genre in an entertaining way through ‘Delhi Belly’ and a guy called Maruthi tried the same in Tollywood with his runaway hit ‘Eerojullo’. Within no time he’s back with a similar offering named ‘Busstop’.

In a way this movie is what we people popularly call a B-grade film which appeals to the unhealthy appetite of the masses. But here it comes with a difference. It’s the same but with an underlying message presented in an entertaining way. Hatsoff to the technical team for putting together a decent product with a solitary Canon 5D camera without even once tampering with quality. Dialogues, music, scenes, action etc etc etc, everything is strictly passable yet are strong to set the cash registers on fire.

The film portrays the confusions of the teens and those in the post-teenage years and their parents. So in a way is intended only for this target group among the audience. Others can give it a miss without regret. The strength in the script is the way it attracts the youth with it’s masala first and then makes them sit down and take notice of the grim realities. All said, I definitely expect something more from the director Maruthi in his subsequent film and not a follow-up to this one.

Maruthi, who directed Eerojullo and Busstop, has clinched a bumper offer. The talented director has got an offer to work with one of the reputed production houses Geetha Arts. Producer Allu Aravind has announced that he’ll be soon teaming up with Maruti for a film under the prestigious banner. Although, the producer did not reveal the details and cast of the film, it is generally presumed to be a big budget film.

Meanwhile, Maruti-directed Bustop, which has hit the screens today, is getting positive reviews. The directed is being showered with praises for his sensibilities and contemporary thinking. Bellamkonda Suresh, another biggie in Tollywood, produced the movie.

Sir Roger Moore believes Skyfall is the greatest Bond film of all time.

The 85-year-old actor, who played 007 in seven films from 1973 to 1985, said the latest movie in the franchise had given the spy another “50 years of life”.

“I think of it as just the best Bond ever made,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

Cast: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney
Director: Sam Mendes
Given the promise of Casino Royale and the subsequent disappointment of Quantum of Solace, it was clear the James Bond franchise – currently in its 50th year – needed a shot in the arm, and a filmmaker who could put things back on track. In Skyfall, Sam Mendes, the Oscar-winning director of American Beauty, has delivered a thrilling addition to the 007 movie legacy, and a film that strikes just the right balance between familiarity and freshness.
So while Mendes doesn’t hold back on such Bond staples as exotic locales, long-winded chases and exhilarating stunts, even an appearance from that iconic silver Aston Martin, he also slyly adds poignant undertones and character depth to a brand of films that has seldom promised more than a series of smart thrills. Fortunately for us, this cocktail proves potent, and aside from the nauseatingly sentimental finale, Skyfall is a terrific ride.
The film opens with a killer pre-credits sequence in which Bond (Daniel Craig in his third outing as 007) and fellow MI6 operative Eve (Naomie Harris) are hot on the trail of a target in Istanbul who’s stolen a hard-drive that contains the identities of every Secret Service agent embedded in terrorist organizations across the world. Leaping off a jeep, Bond chases the target across rooftops on a motorcycle, before taking the fight to the top of a train…until a gunshot knocks 007 into a river.
